Katie Tomlinson, Biography
Katie has appeared with: River Productions (Ensemble, u/s
Grace O'Malley in THE PIRATE QUEEN) New York Musical Theatre Festival (Miss.
Pemberton in ORPHAN TRAIN), Mill Mountain Theatre (Estella in GREAT
EXPECTATIONS), Village Theatre in Issaquah Washington (Lily
in The Secret Garden, Jamie Lynn in Play it by Heart,
Rosemary in How to Succeed…, Ado Annie in
Oklahoma!, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Charity
in Crossing Over, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, The
Wedding Banquet, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and My
Fair Lady), ACT (Zoya in Moscow Nights), The 5th Avenue
Musical Theatre (Spotlight Night: 42nd Street), Second
Generation Productions (The Wedding Banquet international
tour), Razzletown Unlimited (RAZZLETOWN world premier),
Renton Civic Theatre (Side by Side by Sondheim), Civic Light
Opera (Bet in Oliver), Auburn Dinner Theatre (Anna in The
King and I), Cabaret de Paris (Songs of Judy and Liza),
New England Conservatory Chorus, and many others. She has performed
at Carnegie Hall and the New York State Theatre in New York, The
Seattle Opera House, Jordan Hall in Boston, Novel Hall in Taiwan,
and the Esplanade in Singapore.
Katie has trained with some of the nations finest teachers
(Susan Clickner, Marcia Baldwin and Marianne Weltman for voice;
Craig Carnelia, Mark
Jenkins and Valerie Mamches for acting), and received her Bachelor
of Music in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory of Music
in Boston, MA. Along with performing on stage, Katie has also acted
in TV commercials, films (Chrome), and industrials (Microsoft,
Nordstrom, Westin Hotels, AT&T, Verizon), and has done modeling and
print work in Seattle and Boston. Her recordings include:
Original Passion (solo CD), RAZZLETOWN
(original cast recording), and David Austin’s A Christmas Carol
(original cast recording).
As a creator/producer, Katie has had great success with Judy and
Liza (a revue of Garland and Minelli tunes, produced spring
2002), RAZZLETOWN (a musical play with songs from the 1920’s
and 30’s, produced spring 2003) and the Northwest premiere of Andrew
Lippa's john & jen
(produced Summer 2005). She has had the opportunity to
co-Direct three musicals; Quilters, Music Man, and
john & jen. |
